How to NOT wake up in the morning

It has been quite a while since I last posted anything, but right now I have several remarkable things happening in my life. First of all, have you ever had a cat jump on your head to wake you up? I have. This morning, in fact. I was not really startled since I knew she was sitting in the window embrasure several feet above my bed, but I had this unaccountable feeling that she might have actually succeeded in drawing blood. So I decided to get all the way up, feed her since she was probably hungry, and then go upstairs where the bathroom is to see the damage. My wonderful cat had indeed succeeded in leaving a beautiful long scratch on my forehead. At the moment it is all cleaned up, with neosporin on it, but I am wondering if there is any way to hide it. It's in a rather obvious location and I'm about to go to church. It's all about God, so it really shouldn't matter, but I tend to feel embarrassed whenever I stand out from the crowd. I would rather disappear and not be noticed at all. Ah well, it was a funny start to the day.

Next, I have started practicing the flute. It was surprising how that began, since I never really tried to play it before. My little brother had signed up to learn the flute at his school, and we were all encouraging him to practice, practice, practice. But, unfortunately, he was getting frustrated and never wanted to. So, I picked up the flute and his beginner's book and started teaching myself the fingering and the notes. That was last Tuesday, I think. But I can actually sight read a little bit now and play Good King Wenceslas. I have been improving each time, which is my motivation to keep practicing. It's very exciting.

The main thing happening in my life at the moment is not the flute or the cat, but my job. I am working at a very small private Christian school supervising and guiding four students through a homeschool curriculum. They get taught by video teachers, but I give them projects, tests, quizzes, and homework as well as instruct them when they need help. It's harder than it sounds because my four students are not in the same grade. One is a sixth grader, two are seventh graders, and one is a ninth grader. I'm helping them with all their classes, so I admit, I don't remember it all since I haven't been in high school for many years. The ninth grader is the one that needs the most help, and his classes are naturally the toughest of my students, so if he doesn't pay enough attention to his video teachers or doesn't do the reading, then I'm not going be a great help. But I'm doing my best, all things considered.

Well, my dears, that's enough for now. (Except that I have also been reading constantly through all of the books by Georgette Heyer, I'm going by author). So I will see you next time! Most likely, with a picture :)
